Emmanuel Baily

born on May 10, 1974, in Etterbeek, Brussels. Obtains a "Premier Prix" at the Conservatoire Royal de musique de Liège in the guitar class of Johan Fostier and Luc Vanderborght, under whom he then studies for another three years. He also studies saxophone under the tutelage of Philippe Leblanc. He then obtains a "Premier Prix" in chamber music under Jean-Pierre Peuvion ("grande distinction") and has the privilege of studying for several years with Michel Massot, François Deppe, Fabian Fiorini and Georges-Elie Octors. He goes on to obtain a certificate for teaching the guitar, as well as a diploma in educational psychology, also at the Conservatoire de Liège. He completes his studies at the Conservatoire by studying improvisation for three years under Garrett List (USA), while attending at the same time Fabrizio Cassol's improvisation and composition classes. He also participates in many master classes in Belgium and France with, amongst others, Luc Vanderborght, Johan Fostier, Jean-Marc Quillet, Victor Da Costa, Boris Tchango, Nicolas Thijs and Izumi Okubo,Bo Van derwerf, Stephane Galland and Benoît Vandertstraeten.

As an arranger and performer, he participated in the recording of "Le Monde est un village, vol.7", production RTBF youkounkoun nigun, May 2006. As a performer, he participated in the recording of "dazibao" second album,Home records production,september 2007. -As a composer and performer he took part to the Pointe to Point programme 2007 in Beijing( China) under the artistic direction of Susan Buirge(USA),Wen Hui (China), Fabrizio Cassol (Belgium-Italy) and Joyce Koh (Singapore) Wen Hui (Chine), Susan Buirge (USA), Fabrizio Cassol (Belgique / Italy) As a performer, he participated in the recording of André Klénès "Moonly delights" 4th album, Chamber Music editions, june 2008 As a composer, he created the original soundtrack of "Vanishing Point" choreographic works of Cathy Seago (UK) As a composer and performer, he created "A new cartography" contempory dance-music work with Yiphun Chiem(Cambodia-Belgium) and Wang Wei 4tet in "théatre des Doms" Avignon, France As a composer and performer, he participated in the recording of Wang Wei quartet first album, homerecords.be, june 2009.

Marine Horbaczewski

Cellist in the classical/contemporary tradition and free improviser.

Has performed/recorded with: Michel Massot et Tuur Florizoone (dans le trio Massot/Florizone/Horbaczewski, Wang Wei, André Borbé, Brundibar (opéra pour enfant), Georges-Elie Octors, Zanzara, Adam's dream, André Klenes, Ensemble Musique Nouvelle, Géraldine Cozier, Stéphane Martini, Ivan Tirtiaux...

Awarded 1st prize in cello and in chamber music at the Liège Royal Conservatoire.

Xavier Rogé

Xavier ROGÉ first studied classical percussion at the Conservatory of Tournai, then discovers jazz at the age of 15 and starts playing jazz two years later, after completion of his classical studies. He then concentrates on the drums, which he studies with Laurent MERCIER. He participates in workshops where he meets Fabrizio CASSOL and Stéphan GALLAND, who put him in contact with a more contemporary approach.

Following these meetings, he develops an interest for Indian music and compound meters. He then joins the WEST MUSIC CLUB Big Band, where he meets a.o. Richard ROUSSELET (tp) and Yves GOURMEUR (p). In September 2000, he joins the jazz section of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where he studies with Bruno CASTELLUCCI (drs). He obtains a First Prize in jazz drumming, a "Prix Supéérieur" in rhythm.

The teachers he had in the jazz department of the Brussels Conservatory, Bruno CASTELLUCCI (drs), Richard ROUSSELET (tp), Michel HATZIGEORGIOU (b), Jean-Louis RASSINFOSSE (b) were to become musicians with whom he would be playing a few years later.

Laurent Meunier

a étudié la musique classique et contemporaine avec Philippe Leblanc au Conservatoire Royal de Liège, où il obtient un diplôme supérieur en 2002. Il suit également les cours d'improvisation de Garrett List et Michel Massot et étudie le jazz en autodidacte.

Il est actuellement chargé de cours de saxophone au Conservatoire Royal de musique de Liège. Il enseigne également le saxophone et la clarinette dans les académies de Spa et Welkenraedt. Il joue régulièrement dans le big band de Mimi Verderame. Il joue régulièrement en quatuor de saxophones : Sax In'fusion, en big band et en petites formations de jazz.
